Africa across the Straits of Gibralter.
Yes, I've been to Antarctica (twice!)... and 40+ of the US States. (I really ought to finish off the last ones!)
My most recent trips were to Scotland/England, the bottom of
the Grand Canyon, Peru + Iguazu falls (Brasil and Argentine side) and
CA/OR/NV/UT/CO/NE/IA/SD/ND/MN/KS/OK/TX/NM/AZ/NM
Previous recent trips included Turkey,

No, it's not because I get rich teaching :-), but because I save by
not buying other stuff!
I travel on a budget and often stay with friends!

than $2000 airfare
(Asia is cheap from Hawaii right now!)
If you save $10/day for a year you will have $3650
= your airfare and
the basic money to get along for several weeks (or more for some countries).

I am NH6YK in the (U.S.) ham radio world, and have talked to crew on Space Station MIR, as well as the Space Shuttle and International Space Station. In addition, I use shortwave frequencies to communicate with people and friends around the world.
