Inland Locations

Coastal Locations

Coastal locations have weather that may be moderated by the nearby ocean (not so hot, not so cold). Of course, in winter, with the ocean frozen over, some of the coastal locations in the far north and far south may be virtual Inland locations!

Occasionally one (or more) of the stations will not be reporting. (maybe the net connection goes down, or, for the extreme locations, the satellite is below the horizon, or the weather station has just blown over :-) or a blizzard blows the connector out! or....)

You will also want to watch the time the station last reported - I believe it is listed in local time - most local times will be about the same, within an hour or so either way.

The Google Maps links will put you in the general area - to get a greater sense of place, zoom out. Google Earth often has higher resolution images available - Bernardo O'Higgins (whose Lat.Long is a bit off) and South Pole are examples.
